It is prepared especially in Oltenia, where dishes rich in garlic predominate.

  • 750 gm chicken legs
  • 1 medium onion
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic
  • 2-3 tablespoons of sunflower oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 200 ml chicken soup or water
  • 400g canned tomatoes
  • Few fresh tomatoes
  • 1 bunch green parsley
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar, optional
  • green onion leaves for garnish

Start by preparing the ingredients so that you have them on hand when preparing the otropil. Divide the chicken legs into two pieces. Put them in a bowl, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and mix well. Then cover and let them rest for 15-20 minutes for the spices to penetrate into the meat.

Peel, grate and chop the onion fine. Peel the zucchini, grate it and cut it into slices. Cut the fresh tomatoes into cubes or quarters, if they are smaller. As soon as all these components are ready, you can begin to prepare the ostropel.
