Danube Waves Cake. Vlăduț recipe for Super Neatza, April 15, 2022

Because it’s Friday and because Friday at Super Nizza is dessert day, on the morning edition of April 15, 2022, Flodo has prepared a delicious and wonderful four-tier cake, namely: Danube Waves.

This cake is also great as a weekend dessert, but also for a festive cake dish made for the holidays. Follow below for the full list of ingredients and steps to pamper your loved ones with this very tasty and good looking cake.

Danube Waves Cake – Ingredients

Even if the list of ingredients is longer than that of a classic cake, since it is a four-tier cake, it is not complicated ingredients but simple and very affordable.

for countertop:

  • 8 eggs
  • 150 grams fine sugar
  • 50 gm vanilla sugar
  • 200g butter with 82% fat
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 30 grams cocoa
  • 300 grams of flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 7 gm yeast powder
  • 250g pitted sour cherries, sour cherries

For cream:

  • 4 yolks
  • 50 grams fine sugar
  • 50 gm vanilla sugar
  • 500 ml of milk
  • 125 grams of flour
  • 250 g butter (82% fat)
  • a pinch of salt

For freezing:

  • 250g dark chocolate (50% cocoa)
  • 200 ml liquid cream
  • 50 grams butter

Danube Waves Cake – How to prepare

We begin by preparing the top of the sponge cake, which will be two-colored and decorated with a lot of sour cherries.

How to prepare a sponge cake with two colors

First, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Mix the egg whites with a pinch of salt, then with the caster sugar. Mix the melted and cooled butter with the egg yolks and vanilla sugar. To this composition, add the sifted flour with baking powder, then combine the egg white meringue. The result will be the formation of a sponge cake, which we divide into two equal parts.

Spread the first portion in the tray lined with baking paper at the base and flatten it evenly. In the second part, we add cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of milk and mix them in the pan on the first part. Put the cherries in place and put the tray in the oven for 35-40 minutes, at 180 degrees.

How to make vanilla cream

Mix the yolks with a pinch of salt, sugar and vanilla sugar. Dilute the mixture with a little milk, add flour and mix the composition. Then pour in the thin string and the rest of the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth.

Boil the vanilla cream over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth. Place tin foil directly on top of the cream and let it cool.

When the cream has completely cooled, mix it with softened butter and spread it over the already cooled surface of the cake. Allow the pan to cool until the cream is set. We need a thicker cream than a regular cake, because the chocolate cream will be on top of it and should not slide off the surface of the cake. Let’s not forget to stop the vanilla cream and cake decorating.

How to prepare chocolate cream for Danube waves cake

Heat the liquid cream and leave it close to the boiling point. Turn off the heat and add the broken chocolate and butter to the cream. Stir vigorously until dissolved and the composition is homogeneous. Spread the hot chocolate cream over the vanilla cream. Put the cake in the cold to hold the cream.

Then decorate with cream in waves using a decorative bag with two stars.

The egg whites left from the cream can be put on top of the cake, or we can put them in the freezer for another cake recipe, prepared later.
